December 17, 2010
Continuing with our 31 wallpapers for the month of December, we are happy to present you with the next four. These image are composites of our photographs from our time this October in Sevilla, a rich and historic city in the heart of Andalusia. As my friend Michael says, "It is the Spain of Spain”. It is a special city to me personally because my grandfather lived in Sevilla for 20 years. I have fond memories of Christmas stories from my nonno about his adventures.
Sevilla is both old and new. We fell in love with the Arabic designed buildings and artwork. The Moors ruled the Iberian peninsula from 711 A.D. to 1248 A.D., and left indelible traces in Sevilla as in all of Al-Andalus (Andalusia). These images are our impression of an ancient yet vibrant modern city.
