Memories of Portugal

December 2, 2010 by bryan

Each year we try and take time away from the office to refill our creativity reservoirs. This October Stephanie and I spent a month traveling in Sicily, Spain and Portugal.

When in Portugal we fell in love with the beauty of its buildings, subways, nature, food and people. The variety and contrasts are what made it especially natural beauty in the middle of the city, crumbling walls across the street from gorgeous contemporary architecture, a night life enjoyed by all ages, a country full of history that is pushing creativity forward.

In Lisbon we immediately felt at home, and our only regret is that we didn't spend more time there (well it would have been nice if the rain came down a little bit softer too). It is the city we would return to right now if we could.

In Lagos the jagged rocks jumping out of the green sea made us look forward to further explorations of this stunning coastline. We thought of the great explorers setting sail not knowing what would lay ahead, and found ourselves wondering why one would want to leave all of that beauty behind.

We miss you Portugal...your vinho verde, bacalhau, Pasteis de Nata and most importantly all of your wonderful charm around every turn.
